A week-long pilota camp for young handball players referred to as Ikaspilota scheduled for June 15 to 20 in San Francisco has been cancelled. The camp was going to be held at the handball court of the San Francisco Basque Cultural Center, which has sponsored two similar camps in 2006 and 2007.

According to Cultural Center President Xabier Berrueta, this year’s camp was cancelled because it was scheduled too close to Udaleku, the Basque culture camp for youth starting in Chino, Calif. on June 28, and also because many young players are still in school that week.
The camp is currently postponed until next summer.
